The house located at 9391 Gillsville Road in Maysville was built in 1904 for Nora Alexander Boone (1859-1954) by her father, civil war surgeon Manning Poole Alexander (1830-1915).  Dr. Alexander built two homes next to his for two of his daughters.

Nora Alexander married Perino Boone (1854-1935), son of Gainesville merchant Joseph Reese Boone, and descendant of famed frontiersman Daniel Boone.  After the house was built, Perino and Nora moved from Gainesville to Maysville.  Perino Boone died in 1935 and Nora lived in the house until her death in 1954, at which time the house passed to her daughter, Mrs. Annie B. Wingfield.

In December of 1954, the house was sold to Hiram Shewbert.  The Shewberts lived in the house until October 2006, at which time David and Donna Turner became the third set of owners.

Restoration began in November 2006 and was completed in January 2008.  The house originally only had four rooms, two in front and two directly behind those.  A previous owner stated that an addition of a bath and kitchen was made to the house in 1924 and, later, a second floor of bedrooms was added over the bath and kitchen.

The Turners graciously opened their home on the 2008 Victorian Maysville Christmas Tour of Homes.
