The Maysville Methodist Church is the only Maysville church still housed in its original structure.  But, with a new facility currently  under construction, that is about to change.  (Photo taken in 2000 by Todd Dorsey)

The Maysville Methodist Church was organized in 1881.

The history of Maysville Methodist Church is under research by the webmaster.

1879-0822 FN: A protracted meeting was held at Midway, four miles above this, last week, by Dr. Curtis, Methodist, and twelve were added to that church and several others, who will join other churches, professed conversion. The Sunday after (5th) Dr. Curtis will preach here, for the purpose of organizing a Methodist church in this place. We hope that he will find the way open and that our little village will have three church organizations.

1880-0123 FN: Our whole village is sorry to have lost the services of the Baptist minister, Mr. VanHoose, he having moved from Gainesville to Senoia. But the church will soon be supplied with another pastor. The Presbyterian minister, Mr. Cartledge, will continue to preach here. Dr. Curtis, Methodist, will also preach here once a month.

1882-0908 JH: The Rev. Mr. Anderson, Presiding Elder, preached an able sermon in the church on Sunday night.  The Rev. Mr. Graves, from Albany, preaches for us tonight.  He is an able minister and has made many warm and lasting friends in our community.

1882-1117 JH: The Rev. Mr. Parker reorganized the Methodist church at this place on the first Sunday with several additional members.
