Remembrances of MHS Mrs. John W. (Effie) Strange would board the teachers in her home close to the school. Each day a student was selected to go to her house to pick up the teachers' lunches. At recess we would go across the dirt road to play at the branch of the creek. Male teachers wore a white shirt and tie. Teachers were expected to attend church on Sundays.
