Braseltons are
Heirs to George Washington’s Estate Braselton, Ga., Jan. 15, 1908—Braselton Bros. have just received information from Washington, D.C., that the Braselton descendants, since the time of George Washington, will inherit an interest in George Washington’s estate. George Washington, having no children himself, willed one tract of land, containing 38,000 acres, in Clermont District, Ohio, to his nephew and niece, the brave and gallant General Nathaniel Greene and his sister, Hannah Greene. Jacob Braselton, a great grandfather of the Braseltons residing at this place, married Hannah Green, thereby making them direct heirs to this large estate. Robert E. Lee, Jr., has the matter in charge, and says that it will only be a question of a few months until he will advertise for the heirs to take charge of their inheritance. Jackson county has always been known to possess some of the best blood that this great Southland of ours affords, yet very few people know that the “Father of Our Country” has direct descendants in Jackson county, who will fall heirs to part of this vast estate. |
