Flora Brown
Flora Ivester Brown, 102, of Maysville, died Saturday, November 11, 2006, at Limestone Heritage. She was born on December 15, 1903, in Habersham County, and was the daughter of the late Jesse and Betty Billings Ivester. She was retired from Harmony Grove Mills and was a member of Turnerville Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Brown.
Survivors include a son, Sanford Brown, Maysville; daughter, Dorothy Janes, Gainesville; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 14, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Hicks officiating. Burial was in the Sunrise Cemetery in Maysville.  Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.

Kathleen Rice
Kathleen Elizabeth Sawyer Rice, 75, of Maysville, died Friday, November 10, 2006, at her residence.  She was born in Pima County, Ariz., and was the daughter of the late Oscar Silas and Edith Gray Sawyer. She was a retired special needs teacher. Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her husband, George Rice; and a son, James Thomas Rice.
Survivors include a son, Jeb Rice, Tampa, Fla.; daughters, Georgia Wells, Maysville, Patricia Hopewell, Delray Beach, Fla., and Samantha Fackler, Vasser, Mich.; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Vasser, Mich.  Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.

Billie Sorrow
Billie Jurelle O’Kelley Sorrow, 80, of Maysville, died Sunday, September 24, 2006, at her residence.  She was born on January 25, 1926, in Banks County, and was the daughter of the late Isiah and Ethel Boswell O’Kelley. She was a retired sewing machine operator with Barrow Manufacturing Company and was a member of Maysville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Hilliard Sorrow, Maysville; daughter, Marie Hall, Maysville; brother, James O’Kelley, Maysville; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 26, at Maysville Baptist Church with the Revs. Brian Stowe and Grady Jordan officiating. Burial was in Sunrise Cemetery, Maysville.

Priscilla Roe
Priscilla Price Roe, 60, of Maysville, died Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at Gwinnett Medical Center.  She was born in Lowell, Mass., and was the daughter of the late Francis and Gertrude Armstrong Price. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Commerce, where she was past president of its mission societies. She was a radiologist earlier in her career and later became a real estate agent, having been employed with North Georgia Realty in Maysville for ten years before retiring due to her health. Despite her health, four or five years ago Mrs. Roe started the thanksgiving dinners for Commerce through the United Methodist Church. She was very proud of this service to the community.
She was a member of the Radiological Society, Maysville Community Improvement Club, Maysville Garden Club, and the North Georgia Writers Association in Gainesville. She was a kindhearted, good mother, neighbor, and friend, according to loved ones.
Mrs. Roe was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Roe.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Stephanie and Steven Wheeler, Fort Hood, Texas, and January Roe, Commerce; sons, Chris Roe, Cleveland, and Phillip Roe, Maysville; three grandchildren, Cody and Ashleigh Wheeler, Fort Hood, Texas, and Allison Roe, Commerce; and a best friend since childhood, Mary Rouine Marsh, Merrimae, Mass.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 12, at the First United Methodist Church of Commerce with Dr. David Bowen officiating. Burial was in the Sunrise Cemetery, Maysville.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Lodge, 1552 Shoup Court, Decatur, Ga. 30033.

Edith Seay
Mary Edith Seay, 90, of Maysville, died Thursday, March 23, 2006, at Oak Heritage Health Care in Baldwin after an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Mittie Saville Boswell and was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Seay. Survivors include; a sister, Faye Brihn (Russell), Maysville; sister-in-law, Florence Boswell; nephews, Roger Boswell, Ricky Boswell and Ronnie Boswell; and a niece, Shirley Lord. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 25, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Webb officiating. Burial was in Sunrise cemetery in Maysville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Ivie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Marion Jarrett
Marion F. Jarrett, 86, a former mayor of Maysville, died Monday, February 27, 2006, at the Bell Minor Nursing Home. Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late G.J. and Leila Henderson Jarrett. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and was a deacon emeritus of Maysville Baptist Church. He was retired as the manager of Farmer’s Mutual Exchange and manager of Gold Kist Hatchery in Commerce. Mr. Jarrett was also retired from CWT, Inc. in Gainesville and was a long term mayor of Maysville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sacil Sailers Jarrett. Survivors include daughters, Catherine Goodsell, Gillsville, and Yvonne Hughes, Lawrenceville; a son, Randall F. Jarrett, Minneapolis, Minn.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 1, at the Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Revs. Verlin Reece and Brad Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Sunrise Cemetery, Maysville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Maysville Baptist Church Building Fund, 15 Homer Street, Maysville, Ga. 30558, or to the Mount Olive Baptist Church Building Fund, 190 Mount Olive Church Road, Commerce, Ga. 30529.
