Atlanta Dental College. 1896-1120 JH: Cards are out to the marriage of Miss Mary Lou McCalla of Atlanta to Dr. W. G. Sharp. The wedding will take place at Trinity __________ in Atlanta on next Monday evening and the bride and groom __________ home to their friends after ______ 1st at Maysville. 1903-1203 JH: On Monday night of last week, Dr. and Mrs. Sharp entertained quite a number of their friends. Games and music were enjoyed till a late hour, when delicious refreshments were served. Those present were: Misses Mary Deadwyler, Clara Comer, Kate McCalla, Maggie Johnson, Bernice Woodall, Leila Cochran, Gussie Carr, Addie White, Blatz Garrison, Messrs. Bob Hill, Claude Meaders, Marvin Henderson, Ed Garrison, Henry Meaders, Marvin Garrison, Bowen David, Paul Deadwyler and Garnett Chandler. 1904-0922 JH: Residents of Maysville who were here yesterday say that Dr. W. G. Sharp of Maysville, while cleaning out under his residence one day last week, found a rattlesnake with 20 rattles. The doctor enjoys an enviable reputation as a dentist and his snakeship being old had doubtless come to have his teeth repaired and put in shape for the season's business which is just now opening. JH: Dr. W. G. Sharp of Maysville spent Sunday in Jefferson. He was accompanied home by his mother, Mrs. ?at Sharp, who has been visiting relatives here (in Jefferson). 1920 US Census Jackson Co GA Wilson 465 GMD HH 15: Sharp, W. G. head m w 51 m ga ga ga dentist Sharp, Mary Lou wife f w 47 m ga ga ga 1922-0323 JH: Dr. William G. Sharp, prominent dentist of Maysville, committed suicide Friday by cutting his throat. He arose early and left his residence and his wife supposed he had gone to his office. Not returning for breakfast, his wife sent to his office and learned that he had not arrived. Search was instituted immediately and his body was found in a chicken house on his lot, with his throat cut and a knife lying by his side. It is reported he left a note, sealed and addressed to his brothers. But its contents have not been made public. No cause is known for his act. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss McCalla, of Atlanta; by three brothers, Dr. L. J., Messrs. K. N. and B. B. Sharp, of Commerce; and by two sisters, Miss Mary Sharp and Mrs. Cash of Athens. His body was interred in the cemetery at Decatur on Sunday afternoon. Webmaster's note: Debate surrounds how he died. Some say it was not suicide but, in fact, murder that was covered up.
