Maysville Presbyterian Church, built 1883

The Maysville Presbyterian Church was built in 1883.  The membership was dissolved in 1969.  The church building collapsed during a storm and was torn down.  The Anderson District Polling Booth now occupies the site, at the corner of Church and Hogan Streets.  (Photo taken in 1962 by Charles Henry, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Boone, courtesy of R. Smith Pounds.)

The Maysville Presbyterian Church was organized June 22, 1878, from an earlier church at Gillsville.  This organizational meeting was conducted by Rev. Groves H. Cartledge in the Maysville Institute.  Services were held in the Maysville Institute until a church building was constructed in the fall of 1883.

The history of Maysville Presbyterian Church is under construction.
