There are several Eberharts buried in Sunrise Cemetery in Maysville. The original spelling of the name was Eberhardt, but since the "d" was silent, it evolved into Eberhart. Many of this family came from Madison County, Georgia.

The following memorial was found in the December 14, 1900, edition of The Jackson Herald. It refers to the death of Catharine Johnson Eberhart, wife of Martin Eberhart. Both are buried in the Eberhart Cemetery on Unity Church Road just outside of Maysville.

"In sweet remembrance of my dear Grandmother Eberhart, who died Oct. 13, 1900. She was 77 years of age. She and grandfather lived together about 59 years. She has left him and six children, 31 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, with many relatives and friends to mourn their loss, which is her gain. She has four children gone on before her, one of which was my dear father, who went to that blessed home above last Christmas Eve. She joined the Primitive Baptist Church in 1887 and was a faithful member. She lived a Christian life long before she united with the church. She was a devoted wife, a kind and affectionate mother and grandmother, and one of the best of neighbors. To know her was to love her. She was buried at the Browning Cemetery near Diamond Hill. May we all follow her excellent precepts and examples."
