 William "Will" Daniel LAY was born May 24, 1875 in Jackson Co GA (presumably) and died 1 Dec 1966 in Jackson Co GA (presumably).  He was buried at Dry Pond UMC in Jackson Co GA.  He was one of at least four children of Daniel Sampson LAY and Martha Headen TROUT of the Dry Pond community.  He was the grandson of Elisha Jackson LAY and Jane Eveline BAUGH.

Will LAY married (1) Sara "Sallie" Gertrude GARRISON, daughter of David William GARRISON and Anna Louise CHASTAIN.  Sara GARRISON was born 3 June 1874 in Unknown.  Four children, all girls, were born of this marriage:

   i. Nelle Boyd LAY, b. 18 Feb 1899, Jackson Co GA, d. 19 Feb 1984, in Unknown.

  ii. Amy LAY, b. 11 June 1911, Jackson Co GA, d. 23 Mar 2001, Athens, Clarke Co GA (presumably), married JOHN FRANK PHILLIPS.

 iii. Sara Frances LAY, b. 6 Sept 1913, Jackson Co GA, d. 31 Mar 2002, Athens, Clarke Co, GA (presumably).

 iv. Hilda Evelyn LAY, b. 21 Feb 1916, Jackson Co GA, d. 25 Dec 1996 in Unknown, GA; married Ralph Edd HYDER, 10 Aug 1952 in Gainesville, Hall Co GA; b. 16 Nov 1913, Lula, GA.

Sara "Sallie" Gertrude GARRISON LAY died 22 Jun 1928 in Jackson Co GA (presumably) at age 54, leaving Will LAY with three daughters under the age of 18 to raise.

WILL LAY married (2) widow ROSE HENDERSON aft. 1928 in Unknown, GA.  ROSE SUDDATH HENDERSON was the daughter of BENJAMIN FRANKLIN SUDDATH and FRANCES CHAPMAN.  She was b. 1876, Gillsville, Banks Co GA (presumably), and d. 1971, Unknown, GA.  Will Lay moved into Rose's house at 46 Homer Street in Maysville.  It is uncertain whether all four of Will's daughters moved as well but perhaps oldest daughter Nelle remained in the house on Brevard Street.

Will and Rose both lived at 46 Homer Street until their deaths.
