Administrator's Sale (from 10/7/1920 Jackson Herald)
GEORGIA--Jackson County.
By virtue of an order of the Court of Ordinary of said county, will
be sold, on the first Tuesday in November, 1920, between the legal hours of
sale, before the courthouse door, in the city of Jefferson, Jackson County,
Georgia, at public outcry, to the highest bidder, the following described
property known as the lands of the late Mrs. A. J. LeMaster, said land located
on the public road leading from Maysville to Gillsville, about two miles north
of Maysville, containing about seventy-five acres, more or less, adjoining lands
of Hollis Henderson, O. R. Reynolds, Wade Hill and others. On said place
is a good five-room dwelling and other out buildings; about fifty acres in
cultivation, remainder in original forest and old field; said land sold for the
purpose of distribution. Purchaser can pay cash, or, if preferred, can
have the following terms: One-third December 15th, 1920, one-third October 15th,
1924, remainder October 15th, 1927, deferred payments bearing 8 percent
interest, payable annually.

Big Blaze at Gillsville, Ga. (from The Jackson

Maysville, Ga., Sept. 30—(Special) About 2:30 o’clock
this morning fire was discovered in W. A. Crow’s store at Gillsville, Ga.
The whole block was burned out. Losses: W. A. Crow, general merchandise,
$3,500; insurance, $2,000. Building owned by M. B. Carter, insurance,
$300. B. H. Jackson, building and store, total loss. E. E. Allen and
Z. R. Dodd also lost small stores. The post office was also destroyed.
Fire thought to be incendiary.
