Rogers-Phillips
Mr. and Mrs. John Blake Rogers of Maysville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Georgia, and Mr. Thomas Vandiver Phillips, of Atlanta, the wedding to take place the latter part of October.

Simpson-Carr
The Maysville News gives the following account of the marriage of Mr. C. L. Carr of Maysville, to Miss Kate Simpson of Honea Path, S.C.:
A quiet home wedding was the marriage of Mr. C. L. Carr and Miss Kate Simpson, at the home of the bride's parents at Honea Path, S.C., last Monday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. Only the immediate family and a few personal friends were present. Rev. Mr. Stuart of Pelzer, S. C., officiated.
Mrs. Carr is one beautiful and accomplished daughter of Mr. J. A. Simpson, a prominent citizen of Honea Path, S. C., and will be remembered as the popular young milliner of Carr, Boyd & Co., for two years.
Mr. Carr is the son of our mayor, Hon. T. J. Carr, and a popular member of the well-known firm of Carr, Boyd & Co.
The News and a host of friends extend their heartiest congratulations and wish the young couple a prosperous and happy voyage through life.
Mr. and Mrs. Carr are at home to their friends at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Wade.

Porter-David
   A beautiful wedding was solemnized at the home of the bride’s parents, in Jackson County, near Dry Pond on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30, Dec. 30^th when Miss Eva Porter and Mr. James S. David, of Maysville, were married.  W. B. McDonald, of Statham, brother-in-law of the groom, performed the ceremony.
   The bride is a member of a well-known and excellent family of people, and the center of an admiring circle of friends, all of whom have a deep interest in her future welfare and join The News in extending hearty congratulations.
   The groom is a promising young man, possessing a genial disposition and many excellent qualities.  He is a farmer by trade, and has good judgment and business ability.  We feel that he deserves an excellent woman, and we join his many friends in and around Maysville in extending congratulations to him and his lovely bride, and predict for them a bright future.
   Quite a number of friends and relatives of both the contracting parties witnessed the marriage.
