Mr. and Mrs. T. K. Miller and Mrs. C. J. Meaders and Mrs. Guy Miller spent Thursday in Atlanta.

Billy Davidson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Davidson, who is stationed at Rapid City, SD, spent his vacation here recently and was returning for duty in Alaska.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Miller and Stephen spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. John Miller.

Friends of Mrs. W. B. Thompson sympathize with her in the death of her brother, Mr. Claude Buffington in Tucson, AZ.

Mr. and Mrs. W. D Maness and son Billy of Atlanta, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. John White.

Miss Essie Jackson spent Saturday in Atlanta.

Mr. and Mrs. Marion Jarrett, daughter Catherine, and Mr. and Mrs. Tom O’Kelley visited James O’Kelley and Jimmie Jarrett at North Georgia College in Dahlonega, GA last Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Cheek left for Virginia Monday after a nice visit with Mr. and Mrs. Will Cheek.

Mr. and Mrs. Regis Lewis and son, Stephen, of Long Beach CA were recent guests of the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sharp Lewis.

Robert Park of Augusta GA spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Carrie Park, who continues ill at the home of Mrs. W. G. Sharp.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jones of Leslie GA visited Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Ariail and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Presley during the weekend.

Mrs. Virginia McDonald and Cliff Eberhart of Atlanta spent the weekend with their mother, Mrs. J. M. Eberhart.

Mr. and Mrs. Junior Harper of Jefferson spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Merchel Harrison.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Nunn had as their dinner guests Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Sharp and Mr. and Mrs. Darryl Roberts, all of Athens.

Misses Gertrude Paine and Essie Jackson were shopping in Gainesville last Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. John W. Trippe of Greenville SC, formerly of Maysville, announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Elizabeth Ann Trippe to Ralph Charles Keller, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Keller of Weehaw NJ on November 12 at 11:00 a.m.  The marriage took place at the Duncan Methodist Parsonage.  The Rev. A. J. Bowling officiated.  The bride graduated from Maysville High School and attended North Georgia College.  The couple left immediately for a wedding trip, after which they will reside in New York.

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Chandler have returned from a week’s visit in Atlanta.

Mrs. Joe Sutton and daughter from New Holland GA spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Blackwell.

Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Slayton spent Tuesday in Atlanta GA.

Mr. and Mrs. John Miller, Miss Grace White and Mrs. Kathleen Voyles attended “M Night” services at the First Baptist church in Athens on Dec. 6.

Mrs. M. H. Chandler has returned home after an extended visit with her sister, Mrs. Olin S. Cofer, in Atlanta GA.

Those attending the funeral of Mrs. T. K. Boone in Gainesville were Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Pounds, Mrs. L. W. Eberhardt, Mrs. W. O. Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. John White, Miss Grace White and Mrs. Kathleen Voyles.

Mrs. Roy Brooks has returned home after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. I. H. Irvin in Elberton.

Mr. N. A. Arnold will return home Friday after having undergone surgery at St. Joseph’s Infirmary.

Rev. and Mrs. Homer Albright and daughter will arrive in Maysville on Dec. 19.

Local News Items
We noticed from the Banks County Journal that a group of citizens over the county appeared before the Rural Roads Authority in Atlanta and secured definite promise to let 9.2 miles of road paving in February with other coming later in the spring.  We are glad to hear these reports and to add that the needed street paving in Maysville not be over looked.

Kitchen Shower Given Miss Hancock
Mrs. Bob Cathy, Mrs. George Sheridan and Mrs. Claud Williams, Sr., entertained at a kitchen shower Friday evening for Miss Helen Hancock, bride elect, at the home of Mrs. Sheridan on North Green Street in Gainesville.  Beautiful arrangements of chrysanthemums and roses were used for decorations.  After presenting the honoree with lovely gifts, the guests assembled in the dining room where coffee and cake was served from a beautifully decorated table.  Twenty-five guests were present.
