This motorcade of fire trucks, volunteer fire personnel and escort vehicles traveled north through Georgia Saturday on I-85 on its way to New York City.  It was escorted through each county by a fire truck and personnel from that county.  Above is Jefferson's truck leading through Jackson County.  Several Maysville residents watched from the overpass.

Decorating Contest Winners Announced
   The following residents of the Maysville area are winners in the community-wide Christmas Decorating Contest sponsored by the Maysville Community Improvement Club.

 Christmas Tour of Homes planned for Maysville
   A Tour of Homes for Maysville will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
   The Maysville Beautification Committee is sponsoring the event and is selling tickets for $2 each.  Stop by The Short Stop or City Hall to get a map of the nine participating homes.  All homes will be marked with red, white and blue balloons.  Profit from the event will go toward the Beautification Committee's work in Veterans Park.
